*an edit for yesterday's post: Do remember to avoid smokey areas too ok? :D*

Had an exam today on the topic of OSH legislation (Occupational Safety and Health)... And take my word for it, it's seriously a topic not to be underestimated. Legislations have govern the world's system and have maintained 'justice' for many (mainly the rich but i won't get into that... :P) throughout the years. Legislations are called the iron fists of law that strikes out terror to the hearts of misfits and crooks worldwide (i think it's cause they have to pay penalties for it... i mean imprisonment is just a long stay with no check outs in a low class hotel... right? :D). But then... while taking on the course of legislation, i have come to realise a few funny thoughts.

First of all, laws are actually ideals which are excepted by many... not really the fix rule-book notes that we have come to be impressed upon via media all these years. The process of making laws simply includes a high-ranked officer giving an ideal for how a process or moral should be viewed and passes it on to higher ranks till it reaches the sultan and he goes, "Oh... ok. let's do this." in a very extensive review and approval meeting. Hmmm... makes ya wonder if we're in really good hands, eh?

Secondly, laws are constantly changing in conjunction to the ever changing modern world. New legislations are added in to constantly improve the law to ensure it covers all the people. But, doesn't this mean that the so-called 'iron-fist' of law is not so.... sturdy as the 'iron'?In fact, legislations and regulations are constantly revised every 3 years or so to ensure it doesn't go out dated. Cool thing to know that the government is tryign to keep up with the pace of modern society... kinda scary though... as this loop hole might provide a window of opportunity for people to make use of... then again, maybe i'm just flipping on the controversy switch? ;)

Finally, law lingo is tough. With all the and or, including but not limited to, and all the other law jargons, law lingo is a world in which many drag their feet into. Complication seems to be the name of the game and making sure that the law is not easily manipulated, the government ensures that a single sentence can cover at least half the population by glueing multiple points and targets with jargons of all sort and complicated grammar and vocab. So, if you wanna talk the law lingo, be the law lingo.

Anyways, before i sign off to another hot night, do remember to drop me a post every now and then. :) Adios!!

Another hot day in the Oil town of Miri. Temperatures are at an average of 27 - 31 degrees celcius and thigns are just heating up. The haze around the town area is still hanging though. It's as if it was meaning to settle down here.

Anyway, being that i've just been diagnosed with asthma (originally from bronchitis), i suddenly felt an urge to issue a blog warning of a sort for those who are still fine and dandy on tips and tricks on how to stay healthy on this hot and humid weather we are having. Here they are:

1) Drink plenty of fluids. And with this i DON'T mean Coke, Coke light, Pepsi, 100 plus, green tea, chinese tea, ice lemon tea, teh C peng, lemon peng or anything under the sun that has anything added into it. Just drink lots and lots and lots of  H20 to rehydrate and rejuvenate yourself. I'm serious. :)

2) Get plenty of sleep. Forget Ghost Hunters (sobs...), late nights of Gossip Girls (he he he... :P), Heroes marathon or whatever thing you stay up for. Get in bed LATEST by 12pm. A tired body opens up way for the weather to get the best of you.

3) Get plenty of rest and exercise. Try jogging in a haze free park. Swimming might even come in handy too. Never over exert yourself and always get some good and well deserved (yes... i mean after work :P) rest.

4) Eat plenty of greens and avoid reds (ha ha ha... meats, that is...). Eat more veggies and avoid red meat such as beef and lamb. go for fish and occasionally chicken or other white meat. If you are not sure what is what, go check it out on Wiki.

5) Chill more, scold less. Oh come on.... withthe weather you think that people need more heat? Chill out more and take a break (even give your underlings a break) from scolding people. a hot temper is bad for the heart and mind.

6) Watch your weight. All those who think it's good to travel with a 'spare tire' may rethink this considering the weather nowadays (this includes Yours Truly... sigh... :P). Get up and lose weight NOW if you are overweight. You don't need to lose weight until the ideal weight, losing about 5 kg in total is also worth it. Worse come to worse... Don't gain any additional weight if you can't lose it. :)

And that concludes today's rants on the life here in this oil town (more like frying oil town... gah....). Chow!! :)

Of Writing Style And Music

Hey yo readers!!

It's great to be back in the world of blogosphere and i do hope you all 'multiply' soon.

Kinda hoping for a big crowd as i do enjoy the company.

:)

Anyway... this'll be the last time i write in this format.

I'm planning to change my writing style more into a daily 'dear diary' style of writing and it will be more of words and pictures. Well, to make it easy for you to understand, it's something like a newspaper column, something like what the main character of 'Marley and Me' writes. (btw, if you haven't seen the movie... SEE IT!! it's awesome man...)

so... do visit daily. and give comments about my writing style to help me improve it. k?

Hmmm.. music...

Am now into Keane (the old album... hopes and fears), Coldplay (ugh... reluctant but Nick sparked an old flame), Hillsongs (XD Me heart the new album!! More passion!!), Muse (thanks Celine ;) ), Horace Silver Quintet's "The Cape Veridean Blues" (gosh... blues... hmmm :D) and many more...

Anyway... that's for today. will change the layout soon. finding one that fits.

Refocusin on certain issues

Ok, here goes...

I have been going through a lot of thoughts lately and have decided to enter a more professional version of blogging (which is actually a paid version of blogging) and so my blog(s) will be divided into 3. :D

Here's a link to all three and a little description on what it's about. No worries about my real original. The Gift will still be operational and will still be my main source of rants and stuff... but do support my other blogs by reading them and introducing them to friends. Help me in this, k? thanks!!

1) The Gift - This will be my main daily (yes... i will make sure it's daily now) news update on whats happening, in and out of the world around me via my eyes. rants will still be around.. but rare (mainly cause i'm sticking to being professional. :P)

2) Guitaria - A country in where all guitar's reside. No. Seriously. Ha ha ha... just kidding. well, guitaria will be mainly about guitars and music in general. I know i may not seem to be musically literate or a pro in guitar, but i do have a passion for it.

3) Questions and Curiousity - A place where the curious feed their addictions. I'll make sure it's daily this time. :D

So... I do hope you all visit and link the other blogs soon!! Do visit them daily and do promote it to others!! :) Cheers and God bless!!

It's as if ever since i started opening my feelings to others...

I'm becoming more selfish...

Of Songwriting and laziness :P

Ok ok...

Before you pounce on me asking where have i been this few weeks (if there is still any readers left)...

In self defense, i was having my exams and holidays :P

Anyway... i have been doing some productive activities during this holidays though. One namely is sleeping... LOL!!! just kidding.

Anyways, as Janice is back in Bario for the week (sob sob.... i miss her), i decided to practice guitar and my vocals as well.

FYI, i was having bronchitis for the past 2 months and obviously 2 months is all it takes to make your vocal skills gone... lol...

So, i decided playing random notes to see if i could still remember playing.

The next thing i know, i ended up finishing a long unfinished song i was suppose to write last year. YAY!!

XD

Anyway... if u do wanna hear it, you've gotta wait till i'm able to sing well first. k?

Anywho... i guess that's all for now.

Chow!! :)

Of losing it and changes...

I think i'm losing it...

Seriously...

Not my mind...

But my heart...

There is a point in one's life in where one is pressured with the phrase 'it's never enough' to the point it's too much to bear...

Am i going to lose it?

hmmm...

God...

help...

P/S: Me losing my heart has nothing to do with Janice... rather it has something to do with my ministry... The change i am refering too is my blog. gonna change soon... gah... hope i don't lose heart... hmmmm....

Part two of the book of Galatians

Freedom In Christ

1It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

14The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."15If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

Galatians 5:14

Continuing on from the reading from the book of Galatians... All i can say is, WOW!!
I can't believe the lesson it teaches and how it blows my mind. As usual, i'll summarize it into simple point forms:

1) Freedom in Christ
~ In the early parts of the 5th chapter, Paul mentions that we are free in Christ. FREE!! He then goes on saying that we don't need to be circumsized or we will fall away from the freedom of Christ, because circumsized people fall under the Law.

Confused?

Hmmm... simply put, those who commit themselves in earthly laws and abandon the teaching and freedom of Christ is actually abandoning Christ in their hearts. It's no use using the law to justify oneself infront of the All Mighty. We have always tried to create laws and rules and force others and ourselves to live in them... under the guise of trying to be holy and good. God, through Paul, is saying... THROW THE FRIGGIN' mask OFF!!!

There is no need to hide our weaknesses and shortcomings in front of our brethrens and pretend to be holier-than-thou... all we need to do is love, live, forgive and forget.

Ya Dig'?

2) The Command

Remember in Matthew it was mentioned that the greatest commandment?

Love the Lord, Your God, with all your heart, all your mind, all your soul and all your might, and, Love your neighbour as yourself.

In Galatians 5:14, Paul confirms the meaning of the commandment by saying that the basis behind the commandment lies within selfless love towards one another. Now, don't get me wrong; i'm not (i repeat, NOT) talking about the eros Love. But rather, pure love that means to take care of them as you would your own flesh and blood.

He then goes on saying the consequence of disobeying the commandment, the fact that we will be un-united. Can't you see it? That's what the world is coming to, isn't it?! sigh... it's time for a change, don't you agree?

Anyways, await part 3!!

;) Cheers!!

Randy T.
